Our Curriculum

Sappo School is registered and approved by the New York State Regents Department. Sappo School features curriculum based on New York State Standards. Adding Educative Holism to the traditional definition of curriculum allows us to guide the student more personally toward his or her future.

Our curriculum highlights reading excellence, first and foremost. We offer all basic subjects necessary to satisfy New York State requirements, along with a wide variety of personalized electives that match student interests. Our innovative Social Skills Curriculum is mandatory for all Sappo students and presents the student with the tools needed to attain a dignified place in society.

Public Speaking skills are also presented in all grades to further prepare each student for challenges they will face as adults in the professional world. All active learners study whole-brain theory through Integrative Brain Lessons designed to teach application for lifelong self-advocacy toward success. Sappo’s course curriculum satisfies the need for long-term application of social-emotional learning excellence needed for today’s fast moving, competitive landscape.

The courses studied at Sappo School provide students the opportunity to receive instruction that will allow them to achieve New York State Learning Standards. All students participate in interactive lessons that are individualized to assure appropriate delivery.
