Social Emotional Learning

School believes that education is the experience of wholeness, openness,
intimacy and collaboration. One alternative to an ‘academics only’ measure of
success is the holistic approach found in the SEL model. Intrinsically, learning is a social
process. Students do not learn alone,
but rather in collaboration with teachers, in the company of their peers, and
with the support of their families.
Emotions can facilitate or negatively impact a child’s learning and
ultimately their success in school.
Because social and emotional factors play such an important role,
schools and families must attend to this aspect of the educational process for
the benefit of all students.”

| The SHAPE Program Sappo’s Holistic Approach & Procedures in Education SHAPE strategies help to define teaching as an intentional process involving the steps that change behaviors in the shortest amount of time through consistency and repetition. Restorative techniques are administered by well trained SHAPE practitioners. The program is based on a data driven feedback loop to ensure success for each child. |
