Regents and College Preparatory Program

Regents & College PreparationSappo School prepares students for success in taking Regents exams which are administered on the premises.  The students take these exams in a setting conducive to concentration and lessened anxiety.  Our students feel more confident taking these exams and do very well, often earning very high scores. Many who have failed in the past are happily passing Regents and RCT exams at a higher rate than the State averages.

All students at Sappo School are prepared for success.  Over 90% of all Sappo School graduates have gone on to college to pursue their dreams.  All graduates enter their college of choice as they are skillfully directed through our College and Career course that is mandatory for all students.  Graduates in the past have been accepted to Cornell, St. Johns University, NYIT, LIM, Hoftsra, SUNY IT, Stonybrook, C.W.Post, Harvard, and many other colleges and universities.  Holistic Education allows the student to grow steadily stronger socially and emotionally, as they move toward well planned adult life.  There is a great need today for schools to match the competitive landscape facing our graduates.

The New York State Department of Education announced in 2007 that 51-53% of all New York students go to college.  These are unacceptable statistics.  Our faculty skillfully introduces advanced critical thinking which simulates the dynamics of the college classroom.  College courses are offered as motivational electives.  Well structured debates and an annual public speaking program enrich the intellect.  The Classical Arts program provides a culturally rich background for our students.

The SHAPE program at Sappo School allows the student to reach his or her full potential while maintaining a healthy view of education and life in general.
